Job Description

Scope : Process Design

Accurate and Complete Drafting 

• In-depth understanding of project requirements: Collaborate with internal and external engineers, architects, project owners/sponsors, consultants and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, specifications and local building and safety codes, to ensure accurate and fit project drawings

• Accurate and Timely delivery of drafts: Accurately and efficiently develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, diagrams, schematics, designs and models using CAD software (AutoCAD, SoildWorks, Revit etc.) as required throughout the project lifecycle including drawings for concept development, engineering development, vendor tendering, manufacturing and construction

• Complete and Error Free: Ensure that all designs are accurate, complete, free of error and omissions, meeting required regulatory codes and project requirements to minimize delays due to re-drawings and corrections 

• Project Adaptable: Modify and revise drawings as needed to accommodate changes in design or scope of the project as requested by engineering teams

• Calculate and prepare bills of quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates based on drawings in accordance with set templates to support CAPEX estimations and cost-plus tendering process of contractors

Organizational Support  

• Documentation Organization: Ensure proper chain of custody by maintaining organized records of all design files/drawings, revisions and project notes; and assist in project decision making by preparing documentation and reports relating to designs, materials and tendering documents

• Design Solutions: Participate in project meetings to discuss design and assist any technical and drafting issues during project development 

• Conduct site visits as needed to gather information and ensure design accuracy

• Assist with the development of design standards and procedures.

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in CAD technology and design trends.

Job Requirement

• Track Record: 2+ years of experience as a CAD Draughtsman or in a similar drafting role with a portfolio of medium to large scale industrial/manufacturing projects 

• Hard Skills:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, drafting, or a related field 

  • (Certified) Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, Revit) or similar tools - experience with 3D modelling and 2D drafting

  • Familiarity with 3D modelling and rendering techniques and visualisation tools 

  • Good understanding of engineering design, construction and architectural drafting principles and ability to interpret and work with complex technical drawings and specifications

• Soft Skills: 

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines

  • Strong communication and collaboration ability to effectively collaborate with multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary teams remotely

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Experience in construction documentation and project management

• Knowledge of sustainable design practices and materials

• Ability to create presentations and visual aids for project proposals

• Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for land surveying and/or BIM (Building Information Modelling) technologies
