Job Description
Independent Quality ControlÂ

Quality Management Leadership: Â Design and deploy the Quality Management System for all project on an end-to-end basis, providing leadership, support and guidance for all quality management activities to project teams.Â

Project-specific Standards: Develop and execute quality management/assurance plans for each stage of the project lifecycle including quality requirements, standards, guidelines, checklists and audit plans (schedule, documentation and resource planning) that are appropriate for each project

Gatekeeping Function: Ensure that all drawings, designs, and works meet contractual agreements, factory acceptance testing, QA/QC testing, and project requirements etc. before formal acceptance, and that all non-conformance are escalated to appropriate decision makers.Â

Audit: Plans and executes systematic audits, as well as random inspections, of project sites, work processes, supplier, contractor and subcontractor works / sites to ensure that project quality requirements, objectives, contractual standards and defined processes are in compliance

Manages document control as it relates to Quality; verifies that project documents used at the jobsite are updates, maintained, and stores in accordance with project procedure; this includes design drawings, supplier and subcontractor drawings, test records, etc.

Preventative Approach: Ensure that project management teams, operations support, project control teams and supplier/contractors, are informed of common non-conformances, potential risks, and errors, and ensure that mitigation measures are in place

Manages Non-Conformance Control: Ensure and push Project Managers and Site Managers to document, track and resolve all identified non-conformances

Upskilling Teams: Lead project teams in quality-related training incorporating procedural improvements, best practices, and lessons learned from experience and audit results

Required skills and qualifications

Frontier Market Experience: First-hand experience and knowledge of challenges and opportunities facing construction projects in developing and/or least-developed countriesÂ

Proven Track Record: 5+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality control within an engineering consultancy or construction environmentÂ

Hard Skills:

Bachelorâs degree in civil or mechanical or chemical engineering or a related field or Quality Management

Working knowledge / application of quality management systems (ISO, ASME, ASTM and other relevant quality management systems)

Proficiency in using QA/QC standards, methodologies, practices and software tools in engineering and constructionÂ

Soft Skills:Â

Excellent problem-solving capability, able to analyse and interpret underlying causes and trends, whilst also being able to think through the consequences of different options and solutionsÂ
